Fundamentals Group         6:00 - 7:10 pm

If you already play an instrument, but need some time to "get your chops back" and also want to learn some jazz licks, this is the group for you. The conductor is Tom Ball. Join any time. (At no more expense, you may also play in the Concert Band or with Tom's permission, the Jazz Combo.)

Jazz Band                        6:00 - 7:10 pm

Allows continuing learners to improve their playing and music-reading skills.  The Jazz Band is an ensemble that focuses on jazz rhythms, improv skills and learning basic jazz-related pieces and styles including blues, big-band, Latin jazz, and reggae.   Andy Michaud conducts the Jazz Band. Join any time. (At no more expense, you may also play in the Concert Band or with Tom Ball's permission, the Jazz Combo.)

Concert Band                  7:15 - 8:30 pm

The principal ensemble of the MHCB, always improving musical skills while performing high-quality music under conductor Andy Michaud. Join any time. (At no more expense, you may also play in Fundamentals Group or Jazz Band.)

Combonians                     7:15 - 8:30 pm

Primarily plays jazz standards with an emphasis on developing small group improvisational skills.  Tom Ball conducts this band.  Join with permission of the conductor. (At no more expense, you may also play in Fundamentals Group or Jazz Band.)

Rehearsals:

Rehearsals are held on Thursday evenings throughout the year. The banda take off the month of July.  During the school year we are currently meeting at Denver West High School. 
Rehearsals are on Thursday nights at Denver West High School. The Jazz Band and Fundamentals group meet from 6:00 pm to 7:10 pm and Concert Band and Jazz Combo meet from 7:15 pm until 8:30 pm.

We are a dues paying band.  Currently full dues will be payable each term for $160 ($40/mo)
